Wandsworth Conservatives

District Line

The District Line is one of the most underdeveloped lines on the London Underground. Putney's Conservative MP Justine Greening has made the District Line's many problems a leading concern.

Like many people Justine depends on the District Line every day to get to work. Justine has lobbied London Underground to improve the service, already getting in place an extra train in morning rush hour and an agreement for lifts at Southfields and East Putney Stations.

Her campaign is now aiming to put pressure on London Underground to bring forward the improvements and investment to the District Line that are currently not planned to be implemented until 2013. The plans include new more reliable signalling, new tubes with seven carriages instead of six and other improvements. Justine thinks that we shouldn’t have to wait for these improvements – they are already long overdue.

Let Justine know the service issues as they happen, by using her MP Textline service.
